Equipment, pre-start checks and maintenance

The SitesAI App's equipment tools keep a register of your machines and the checks done on them. Each machine has its own record with a serial number, a daily pre-start checklist, service intervals by machine hours and a maintenance history. A defect found on a pre-start raises a triage task instead of sitting on a form.

What does the equipment register do?

  • Keeps an asset register by category, with serial numbers.
  • Records transfers of equipment between users, and removal from a site.
  • Runs a pre-start checklist for each machine, submitted by the worker before they use it.
  • Opens a machine's pre-start when the worker taps the QR or NFC tag on that machine.
  • Raises a triage task when a pre-start has a defect line.
  • Tracks service intervals by machine hours.
  • Keeps a maintenance history for each machine.
  • Lets a client do the pre-start on a machine you dry-hired to them, in their customer portal. It files against the machine in your records.

How does a pre-start work?

  1. Add the machine. Put it in the asset register under its category, with its serial number.
  2. Set its checks. Give the machine its pre-start checklist and its service interval in machine hours.
  3. Pre-start before use. The operator taps the machine's tag, or opens the pre-start in the app, and works through the checklist.
  4. A defect becomes a task. A defect line raises a triage task, so the fault does not stay on the checklist.
  5. Services go on the history. Each service and repair is logged against the machine, so its maintenance history is in one place.

Who uses it?

Operators do the pre-start on their phone before they start the machine. Supervisors and whoever looks after the plant deal with the defect tasks and log the services. The owner has each machine's service intervals and maintenance history in one place.

FAQ

Questions about equipment, pre-starts and maintenance

What happens when an operator finds a defect?

The defect line on the pre-start raises a triage task. The app records the defect and raises the task. The decision about whether the machine works stays with you.

How are services scheduled?

By machine hours. Each machine carries its service intervals, and the pre-start and maintenance logs sit on the same machine record.

Can a client do the pre-start on plant they dry-hired?

Yes. When a machine is on hire to a client without an operator, the client can do the daily pre-start in their customer portal, and it files against the machine in your records.

Does it schedule plant onto jobs?

No. There is no dedicated plant-scheduling view. Shifts are offered to people, and machines live in the asset register.
